Throw Rag

Capt. Sean and Throw Rag rocked in the midday heat out at the Hootenanny. I can't wait to see these guys tear it up at Mountain High.

Crown Town

Our friend Jeff at Crown Cycle Co. is going to have a booth at the Chop Meet for his bad ass cruiser bicycles. Long time veteran of two-wheeled mayhem, both powered and pedaled will be showcasing his bicycles, motorcycles and even rods from his club FoMoCo MoFos. Cool thing is, you can buy a bike at the show and he'll ship it to you so you don't have to strap it to your back to get it home...

Rouser Rob is coming...

Last time I saw Rob he was strapped down in the back of an ambulance...

I'm looking forward to seeing him in better shape up in Wrightwood.

Earl's Bikes & MSC

All you need to know about Earl is this: Born July 28, 1945, Earl built his first bike at the age of 8. Fabricated out of a 26" bicycle frame, 20" bicycle wheels (each one running two nested tires - they lasted longer that way) and powered by a cast iron, horse-and-a-half one cylinder/four stroke Briggs and Stratton motor off an old Maytag washing machine... it was belt driven, direct drive and didn't have a clutch so you had to peddle the bike to get the motor started and when you came to a stop sign or a red light either you went through or had to turn the engine off. The first modification was to make the belt longer, add a spring loaded pulley (and reinvent the slip clutch). Earl has been building and modifying bikes ever since...

The other thing you should know is that he's coming to the Chop Meet and bringing some bad ass Triumphs. Earl and Jordan from MSC are sharing a booth so make sure you keep an eye out for 'em and stop in and say hi, just try not to drool on the bikes...

A Date That Will Live in Infamy

PROCRASTINATORS, PLEASE NOTE:  The Chop Meet online store for both general admission armbands AND vendor pre-registration will be closed July 10. Why? Because if USPS fails to deliver the armbands and vendor courtesy packs we mail out after that date, we don't want to be faced with a bunch of irate friends and industry members.

To avoid this headache, please go to our online store today and order your $30 discount armbands.

If you're planning to sell at the Chop Meet, please reserve your booth space ASAP.

Thanks for your understanding and support!

Attn: LA Riders

PLEASE NOTE: HWY 2 is closed a few miles shy of Mountain High.

While that was an awesome route, there is a good alternative (shown in pink). We rode it personally this weekend and it's plenty fun. About 70-ish miles from the LA area and is packed with lots of elevations changes, twisty roads and very little traffic. Just the ingredients needed for a nice Saturday morning ride to the Chop Meet. For those of you coming from the 15, or the 14, this won't have any impact on your route.

Kids Raise Hell Free at the SoCal Chop Meet!

If you're coming to the Chop Meet but don't know what to do with your rug rats, relax—kids 15 and under accompanied by an adult or guardian can join the fun absolutely free! All you gotta do is buy one general admission armband for $30 online or $40 the day of the event and one kid gets in free. The family above would have to buy three armbands: one for mom, one for dad and one for Junior. Sissy and Debbie would get in free. Sorry—only one free kid's entry per paid adult, and no free entry for unaccompanied minors. It's just our way of saying thanks to the hard-working American family.
